More about the Singapura
Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is an island country in Southeast Asia. Its territory comprises a main island, over 60 satellite islands and islets, and one outlying islet. The country is about one degree of latitude north of the equator, off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, bordering the Strait of Malacca to the west, the Singapore Strait to the south along with the Riau Islands in Indonesia, the South China Sea to the east and the Straits of Johor along with the State of Johor in Malaysia to the north.
Living with a Singapura
A tiny cat with a huge personality, curious, affectionate, and utterly convinced she runs the household.
Personality & fit
Singapuras are lively, intelligent, and deeply attached to their people, often following you room to room to keep tabs on things. They can be a little reserved with strangers at first, but once comfortable, they're social, playful, and happiest right in the middle of family life.
Exercise & energy
Small but mighty, this breed has real energy and loves to climb, chase, and investigate everything in sight. Interactive toys, cat trees, and daily play sessions help burn off that curiosity in a good way.
Grooming & coat
Their short, fine coat is about as low-maintenance as it gets, an occasional brush to catch loose hair is plenty. They're not big shedders, so grooming is quick and easy.
Training
Sharp and eager to engage, Singapuras pick up on routines and puzzle toys quickly, and many can learn tricks or leash walking with patient, reward-based training. Their intelligence means they also get into things, so mental stimulation keeps mischief in check.
Health to watch
This is generally a sturdy, healthy breed with few widespread genetic concerns, but routine vet checkups are still the best way to catch anything early. Keeping them at a healthy weight matters even more given their naturally small frame.
Good to know
Don't let the small size fool you. Singapuras need plenty of interaction and playtime, and they don't love being left alone for long stretches. They do best with owners who want an involved, people-focused companion.
